Monsters and Creatures

Information about the monsters and creatures of Iroe.

Dragons

Dragons exist, obviously. They are rarer in western European areas, and much more common in Western Russia, Greenland, and Saudi Arabia.

Svraksi

Svraksi are beings of base desires. They were all once intelligent & civilized creatures, but they were corrupted by a chemical agent and become consumed with their strongest base desire. They wreak havoc and violence everywhere they go, work together only for selfish reasons, and leave the lands they attack in ruin and despair.

Svraksi were added to Iroe to satisfy the need for "Demon" enemies in Pathfinder 2e. They function identically to Demons in Pathfinder 2e, but are not actually Demons, though they are similarly corrupted.

Svraksi First Appearance

Svraksi are the result of a military super-soldier program during one of the many world wars. A chemical was developed to turn individuals into much stronger fighting forces, but the chemical had nasty side effects, and was never used in the actual wars. The lab where the chemical was developed was in Greenland.

Some Yorn found the Lab in 3913 NA8, excavating it and unleashing the chemical agent upon the surrounding villages. The Yorn continue to develop this formula and continue to unleash it upon underprotected villages in the area every few years; this is the main way in which Svraksi population increases, as Svraksi are not able to reproduce on their own.

This takes the place of the "Worldwound" in the Quest for the Frozen Flame Adventure Path.

Yorn

Yorn are creatures that manifest from latent magic, created from the unconscious personifications of the civilized races' base desires. They exist as corrupters and tempters, trying to get the civilized races to give into their animalistic tendencies, as this both feeds the Yorn and creates more of them. They are evil creatures and love seeing the civilized races suffer and die, regularly wreaking havoc and destruction any way they can.

The Yorn are responsible for releasing the Svraksi upon the world.

The Yorn are intended to take the place of Devils in Pathfinder 2e. They are not actually devils, but function the same as Pathfinder 2e devils.
