Order of the Wielders of Magic (OWM)

History

OWM Founding

Before the OWM there was a similar order of magic (currently unnamed). This order fell apart.

The OWM was founded in the early 3900s NA8, as a spiritual successor to this older order. This initiative was refounded by the legendary wielder of the Staff of Zero Kelvin, Uvogast "the Frigid" Farnlant (who willingly destroyed the staff soon after traveling to Pegro with his apprentice, Marc Fleur'de'Fleur). He decided not to head the organization he started to found, because he saw he had more important tasks (such as the founding of Eselan) that he could not do with the responsibilities of the High Marked Mage.

The OWM Civil War

A member wizard/paladin became obsessed with killing a necromancer rogue who hid in a forest filled with wraiths and killed several interceders in an overly violent fashion. Was willing to offset magical energies and some High Mages on the OWM went with sunsins to stop him. The rest of the OWM considered this a breach of their authority and 6 High Mages fought against the rest in the OWM Civil War.

The OWM Civil War happened roughly 10 years after the OWM's founding.
